To highlight Pre-Fall ‘23, Merlette collaborated with Spanish filmmaker Carlota Guerrero to explore the garments and their construction, both on and off the body.
Collection 15 features a color palette inspired by desert landscapes, intricate handworked details and new feminine silhouettes to create a modern and wearable collection.
With creative direction by Roxane Danset, the campaign was created on location in Barcelona Spain to feature rhythmic sequences and performative tableaux to emphasize the garments’ color, movement and texture.
“The colors, textures, and prints of the collection made me want to approach this shoot in ways evocative of 1970s performance art.” - Roxane Danset
The evocative film created by Nicolas Feriche Pomés imagines the dress, a hallmark of Merlette design, as an eternal object, following its journey in time.
"I was inspired by the faces of Praxedes, Kiala and Hajar. I imagined a dance of the three in the Mediterranean." - Carlota Guerrero
