This month we traveled to LA to visit with multi-hyphenate creative Mia Moretti, who is a DJ and poet, and spent time with her in her beautiful home. With several published volumes of poetry and high-profile DJ jobs taking her from Hollywood to fashion events around the globe, Mia is as recognized by her sophisticated style as her creative talent. Q: How would you characterize what you do professionally?
A: I think of myself as a story collector and a story dispenser. I share those stories sometimes through songs, sometimes through poems.
Q: The DJ controls the mood of an event. How does that influence your style?
A: I never know the mood of an event until I get there, but I do always try to shake whatever my day was off me before I go to work. I don’t want to bring in that energy. I want to be able to absorb and reflect the energy that is there in the room.

A: Moody

A: Freedom

A: It means we will survive.
