In the evolution of Merlette, there are certain moments that stand out for Founder and Creative Director Marina Cortbawi. Having legendary supermodel Kirsty Hume appear in a shoot for our Spring 2023 collection is one of those memorable moments, and she is marking it with a note to our community about its deeper meaning for her.

I'm personally thrilled to share our recent photoshoot in Malibu with the amazing Kirsty Hume and legendary photographer Tierney Gearon. Working with Kirsty was a dream come true, and it was truly an honor to see our Spring 2023 collection brought to life in her natural and effortless beauty. Growing up in Australia, high fashion always felt far away, but seeing Kirsty grace the covers of magazines in the ‘90s made me feel that one day I would be a part of it, too.
The shoot was a collaboration among friends, with Daniele King bringing her impeccable styling skills to the table. It's been a dream of ours for years, and seeing it finally come to fruition with Kirsty was a moment of pure joy.
And of course, Tierney Gearon's skill behind the camera is unmatched. Her bold and creative approach captures the essence of humanity in all its complexity, making this shoot truly special.
I am grateful to have had the opportunity to work with such a talented group of women and see our vision come to life. This shoot embodies the spirit of Merlette New York — a celebration of femininity, beauty, and creativity.
