In Conversation with Natasha and Clover

This Mother’s Day, we celebrate Natasha Gregson Wagner and her daughter, Clover. Natasha is the founder of L’Amour Mère, a fragrance shaped by the memory of her mother, Natalie Wood, and her signature scent. Documented at their home in Los Angeles wearing Collection 23, the two share a quiet dialogue on lineage, individuality, and the evolving rhythm of motherhood, where heritage is honored and new expressions of self are gently, confidently formed.

L’Amour Mère honors your roots. What does it feel like to see Clover find her own sense of freedom within that lineage?
Watching your child grow up and discover herself is an unfolding that never loses its wonder for me. Clover is discerning and self-possessed, she loves film that spans decades and genres. She understands, in her own quiet way, that her grandmother was part of some of the most iconic ones, but she holds that awareness close to the vest.
How has motherhood changed how you move through the world or the way you dress?
Motherhood changed everything for me! I move through the world with a greater feeling of responsibility, authenticity and ease. As far as clothing, I have always dressed simply. I’m a minimalist, so I buy thoughtfully and I never over purchase. I have spent less money on clothing since I became a parent!

What drew you both to the ease and movement of these Merlette pieces?
The fabrics are natural, the cuts easy and feminine, the colors and hues are perfection.
What is a quiet, unspoken rhythm of motherhood you only learn by living it?
For me, I know that if I use the morning and early part of the day to exercise, work, take care of my responsibilities and myself, I am much more present at 3pm when I pick Clover up from school. We are a family that likes to cook, so we do that a lot and try to sit down around 6 for a meal with each other.
In three words, how would you each describe the other’s spirit or style?
My mom’s style feels clean, colorful and classic. Clover’s style is French girl meets streetwear in a very simple and paired down way.

What do you hope Clover carries from this season of shared creative freedom?
I hope Clover continues to trust that her creativity is anchored and powered by her authenticity. It takes guts to trust yourself. Creativity blossoms in the littlest ways. Learning how to bake bread, walking along the streets of Paris and paying attention to where your eye takes you, writing a letter, taking a walk, learning how to think critically and creatively is the gift that keeps on giving.
Clover, which piece from your mother’s wardrobe do you most look forward to wearing one day?
My mom inherited so many unbelievable pieces of my grandma’s jewelry. Some of my favorites are her butterfly necklace and her Cartier watch. I am excited to wear some of her vintage handbags too. I love my mom’s clothes and she always lets me borrow them-which is nice.
