Merlette Founder and Creative Director Marina Cortbawi recently hosted a small gathering of friends of the brand to celebrate the start of the holiday season.

An intimate dinner at the Chef’s Table at Estela in NoLIta was the setting for stylish friends to gather, eat and drink for an early holiday celebration. On the menu: Oysters with yuzu kosho mignonette, ricotta dumplings with mushrooms and pecorino Sardo, and lots of conversation about everyone’s favorite Merlette pieces.

The SOLIMAN dress is my favorite because it's the perfect combination of soft femininity with a bit of a masculine touch. The long sleeves remind me of my favorite tailored suit jacket, but the shorter length and voluminous shape allows me to feel feminine and graceful without being showy.”

Caroline Ventura, Multidisciplinary Artist

“I love the PHILEMON sweater as it's a perfect dinner top in winter if you want to stay warm and comfortable. The eyelet detail shows a touch of skin making it a bit more fun and unexpected."

I love the MAJORELLE top because it’s timeless and romantic. I absolutely adore and appreciate the smocking craftsmanship.”

Renata Zandonadi Quaglia, Model

'I felt beautiful and free wearing the OPHELIA dress, like a Victorian woman about to run into the night to meet her lover. I wore it with these thigh high boots even though you could only see from the ankle down!’

Coco Baudelle, Actress and Filmmaker

I like the NAARDEN dress as the side panels with large sweeps feel very playful and dramatic. I also love a boat neck, which is very elegant to frame the face and I would dress it up with sheer tights and suede pumps.”
